PPG Glass Filter Media Grade II 0.8 - 2.0mm 25kg

PPG Glass Filter Media is one of the best glass media on the market.
It is produced by Dryden Aqua (manufacturer of AFM) in strict adherence to our ISO certified process.

The glass is first washed and disinfected and then gently broken into the desired shape and size.
Above all, we ensure that no sharp glass splinters can end up in the glass and that the organic load remains below 400g per ton.
But PGFM is not AFM. PGFM does not undergo the patented activation process and is produced from mixed glass. The white glass is not filtered out.

Nevertheless, PGFM is a better filter media than sand because it accumulates less microorganisms, but is not bio-resistant like AFM. PGFM is the answer in the price-sensitive glass media market, where performance is less important.

The ideal filter filling:

• 70% PGFM 1
• 15% PGFM 2
• 15% PGFM 3

For smaller filters (<1000mm diameter) and for all filters with bubble bottoms regardless of filter size, use 70% PGFM 1 and 30% PGFM 2. PGFM 3 is only for larger filters to ensure proper filtration.
